Questions we get asked most

Direct answers on turnaround, what it costs, and how the work actually gets done.

How quickly do you respond to support requests?
Urgent problems get a same-day response, and in practice that usually means a few hours. We work to AEST, so a Brisbane morning outage is picked up in your morning rather than someone else's. Managed IT clients go to the front of the queue, and we are contactable 7 days a week including weekends and public holidays.
What areas of Brisbane do you cover?
Support is delivered remotely first, which reaches every Brisbane postcode and anywhere else in Australia. Where a visit is genuinely needed we arrange on-site attendance across the metro area: the CBD, Fortitude Valley and Newstead, the Milton and South Brisbane office strips, north to North Lakes, south to Springwood and Eight Mile Plains, and west toward Ipswich. No call-out fee applies inside that footprint.
Do I need to sign a contract?
No. One-off work is pay as you go with nothing to sign, and ongoing managed IT runs month to month. If a growing business needs to scale the arrangement up or wind it back, that happens without a contract negotiation.
Is there a call-out fee?
There is no call-out fee for on-site visits inside metro Brisbane, running from North Lakes in the north down to Springwood in the south. Sites beyond that footprint may attract a modest travel charge, quoted before anyone gets in a car. Remote sessions carry no travel component whatsoever.
Can you support my team remotely?
Yes, and that is the default. Most faults are cleared over a secure remote session well before a technician could reach Newstead in traffic, which matters when a team is waiting. On-site attendance is reserved for work that genuinely needs hands on the hardware.
How does remote support actually work?
Sessions run through Splashtop SOS, attended and consent-based. You download and run the Support App on the affected machine, it displays a 9-digit code, you read that code out to Aaron and the connection opens. There is no account to create and nothing permanently installed. You watch every action on screen as it happens, and closing the app ends the session immediately.
Do you work after hours or on weekends?
Yes, we are available all seven days. Storm season is the obvious case: a Saturday power event that takes out a server or corrupts a backup does not wait for Monday. Call 1300 769 337 directly for anything urgent outside standard hours.
What's included in managed IT support?
Ongoing patching, monitoring, security hygiene, vendor wrangling and direct access to a senior engineer who already knows your environment. Be clear on the commercial model: there is no bundled retainer here. Labour stays at $180/hr ex GST, an optional security baseline runs at $29.95 per endpoint per month, device management can be layered on top, and any project of size is quoted in writing before work starts.
How much does IT support cost?
One rate covers everything: $180/hr excluding GST, billed as a one-hour minimum and then in 30-minute increments, with no call-out fee inside metro Brisbane. Managed clients pay that same hourly rate for labour, plus the optional $29.95 per endpoint per month security baseline if they want it. There is deliberately no fixed monthly labour plan, so you are never paying a retainer for hours nobody used.
Can you help my business use AI tools like ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot?
Yes, AI automation is an active part of the practice. That covers licensing and configuring Microsoft Copilot properly, setting guardrails on ChatGPT use so company data does not leak into a public model, and building custom workflows that remove genuinely repetitive admin. The setup and the staff training both come as part of the engagement, because a tool nobody knows how to use is not a productivity gain.
What is the Essential Eight and does my business need it?
The Essential Eight is the Australian Signals Directorate's baseline of eight cyber security controls, covering multi-factor authentication, application control, patching of both operating systems and applications, restricting admin privileges, hardening Microsoft Office macros and user applications, and regular backups. It is worth implementing for almost any business, and it becomes close to mandatory once you tender for government or larger corporate work. We audit where you currently sit, then lift you to the maturity level your contracts actually require.
Can you help us migrate from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365?
Yes, and it is a common request from businesses that started small on Workspace and have outgrown it. A full migration moves mail, calendars, contacts, Drive content, shared drives and the permission structure behind them. Cutover is planned around your quiet hours to keep downtime minimal, DNS and mail routing are handled for you, and nothing is switched off until the new tenant is verified. Ask for a migration assessment and you will get a written scope first.
